Since the 1970s scientific evidence has been accumulating that proves that essential fatty acids (EFAs) are vital for good health. EFAs are called “essential” because the human body cannot manufacture them and they MUST come from the diet. Omega 3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) have vital roles to play in promoting good health. The best dietary sources of EPA and DHA are fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, and herring,. This is why many doctors recommend at least two servings of fatty fish a week.

Scientific Background:
The typical modern diet contains insufficient EFAs. This contributes to many diseases including heart disease and cancer. Inadequate EFA intake may also contribute to strokes. Sufficient EFAs support good cardiovascular health as well as good cognitive function with healthy brains, nerves and skin.
The anti-inflammatory action of EFAs has been shown to reduce general inflammation and relieve arthritis symptoms.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Health:
The benefits of Omega 3 Fatty Acids (EPA and DHA) for the heart are particularly impressive. Research indicates Omega 3s provide a number of cardiovascular benefits against developing heart disease and slowing the progression of heart disease in those who already have it. The benefits include lower levels of triglycerides, increased good cholesterol and decreased bad cholesterol, lower total levels of cholesterol, and less chance of arrhythmias. Omega 3 Fatty Acids can also lower blood pressure and slow the heart rate.
Scientists recommend that we eat at least two servings of fatty fish per week to ensure adequate intake of EPA and DHA. Many do not eat the recommended number of servings. Also, farmed fish may be contaminated with PCBs and dioxins; wild fish may be contaminated with pollutants such as mercury, lead, and other heavy metals.
Omega 3 Liquid provides high quality Omega 3 in a liquid oil form with a delicious lemon flavour and not a hint of fish taste. Each teaspoon contains 810 mg of EPA and 540 mg of DHA, providing an easy way to get enough of these important, therapeutic fats.
SUNN DHA Forte Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acid Formula makes it easy to get enough quality Omega 3 fatty acids. It also removes all contamination concerns. The oil is steam-distilled and third-party tested to meet or exceed Canadian standards for potency, purity, and freshness. This means that SUNN Omega 3 Liquid has been tested to be free of heavy metals (ie. mercury) as well as dioxins and PCBs. SUNN has used all natural flavours and natural Vitamin E as the preservative.
